Introducing Single Sign-On (SSO) enforcement for better security

We’re excited to introduce a new security feature in Ed Controls, revolutionising user authentication. This feature, exclusive to Expert licenses, allows Admins to implement Single Sign-On (SSO) with providers like Microsoft and Google for certain contracts.

It ensures that only internal users with approved SSO domains can access sensitive data, thereby boosting project security. If an employee leaves, their access to Ed Controls is instantly revoked, removing any security risks from delayed manual access removal.

To activate, Admins can enable SSO in the contract settings. Only domains owned by admins can be added, excluding common ones like gmail.com to maintain security with organisational emails. All users under whitelisted domains will be logged out and notified about the SSO requirement within 24 hours of activation.

While we secure internal user access via SSO, external partners can still use their traditional login methods, maintaining seamless collaboration. This balance ensures that new security enhancements support our commitment to secure yet flexible project management.
